The HasanAbad Art market is located within the historic fabric in the south of Naqsh-e Jahan Square, extending along the HasanAbad Handicrafts Bazar. This structure was originally part of the bazaar but was converted into a residential property during the Pahlavi era. At the start of the restoration process, the building had been abandoned for over two decades. To align with its historical use, the restoration plan has incorporated commercial spaces, workshops, and a café .
The exterior facades along the Bazaar were designed to harmonize with and restore the architectural identity of the HasanAbad Bazaar. To provide natural light, skylights inspired by the traditional designs found in the Bazaar were installed in the building’s internal corridors. The rooftop has been transformed into a cafe-restaurant, offering visitors a unique experience with stunning views of the domes of Naqsh-e Jahan Square and the HasanAbad bazaar.
This project aims to preserve the historical authenticity of the site while injecting vitality into its functions. It strives to revitalize the old urban fabric and strengthen the local economy through handicrafts and tourism.
